Key Strengths
The Youth Development Division has an abundance of knowledge, experience and world class personnel. This, combined with a focus and goal to develop the qualities of leadership, team work, discipline, loyalty and perseverance to the youth of the UAE makes for a powerful Division that really does have the potential to shape the future of today’s Emirati youth.

Leadership
The ability to mobilise others to achieve a common goal, to get things done. This definition embraces the notion that leadership is about what you do, not who you are. Consequently, the programs teach students the fundamental functions of leadership. -
Tolerance
Having an attitude of openness and respect for the differences that exist among people. It encompasses the importance of respecting and learning from others, valuing differences and discovering common ground. -
Loyalty
Standing by, supporting, helping and protecting one’s family, friends, teachers, school, community and country. -
Perseverance
Working hard to achieve goals – hanging in there and staying focused even when obstacles stand in the way. It encompasses the importance of adopting a positive “I can” attitude and viewing errors as part of the normal learning process and bouncing back from disappointment or failure. -
Teamwork
The ability of individuals to work together to achieve a common goal. It encompasses the approach, skills, and practices used by members of the team to achieve their common goals. -
Responsible Productive citizens
Young people who understand their rights and responsibilities that come with being a legal resident of the country.
Young people are encouraged to become active and informed citizens, willing to participate in the life of their community, country and the wider world.
They are also encouraged to behave in a way which is compatible with the social and moral expectations of their community and country. -
Discipline
Doing the right thing, doing something you must do, even if you don’t feel like it. It encompasses the importance of self-discipline, achieving goals, and taking responsibility for our behaviour and actions.
